On 5-30-07 a neocon is quoted as saying that he hopes and prays that GW bombs Iran. This man is Norman Podhoretz. His argument is flawed on so many concepts. First we have Usama Bin Laden saying that his goal is to establish a caliphate and he tells us how he is going to do this. By instigating unrest in Muslim nations he hopes to unite radicals and marginalize moderate Muslims. He invited America into Iraq and GW took the bait. UBL knows that this will not happen in his lifetime, he's looking at after life.
The current situation in Iraq has the majority Shite being funded from Iran and the minority Sunni being funded from Saudia Arabia, opposite sides of the civil war.
Iran is interested in establishing 'the Shite crescent" from Iran to the Mediterranian. They cannot do this as long as the Saudis fund the revolution of the minority in Iraq. As it stands right now , Iran is the big regional 'superpower'. However, the Saudis have all the money. Only time will tell who is gonna win this mess. It won't be the U.S.A.
The surest way to unite the Muslim world against us would be to give further incentive to gain operational capabilities or motivation to the moderate Muslims. This incentive would come from bombing Iran. This is a SURE way to unite Shite and Sunni. It will take generations to fix George W. Bushs mistakes as it is. The world may never be the same if we bomb Iran!
